Nusbaumer & Clarke, Inc. provided design engineering, permitting, and construction support services for the $1.5 million Gateway Harbor Improvements Project in North Tonawanda. Funded through the New York Smart Growth Community Fund, the project enhanced the harbor as a year-round destination for residents and visitors.
Key improvements included the design and construction of a new Restroom & Harbormaster building with integrated storage and utility connections, along with four new public seating areas featuring concrete paving, retaining walls, and safety railings. The project also included electrical utility upgrades to improve harbor functionality and support future use.
Nussbaumer’s team provided surveying, bidding assistance, and public outreach support, including project renderings and community meetings to engage local stakeholders throughout the design process. The completed project created a more welcoming, accessible, and connected waterfront space for the Twin Cities community.
