Nussbaumer & Clarke, Inc. provided design, construction administration, and inspection services for the addition of a new UV disinfection system at the City of Lockport Wastewater Treatment Plant. Working closely with City staff, regulators, and equipment vendors, our team developed a cost-effective and resilient solution focused on regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and long-term reliability.
The project included installation of a 78 MGD UV disinfection system, upgrades to existing chlorine contact tanks, replacement of deteriorated scum skimmers and baffles, and construction of a new canopy structure to protect equipment and improve operator safety. Additional improvements included structural modifications, a new level-control weir system, and integration with the facility’s emergency power system to maintain operations during outages.
