WHY DID I GO INTO MY PROFESSION?
When I was a child, I wanted to be a carpenter. My parents, on the other hand, insisted that I go to college for architecture. I remember that they tried to convince me that I could be some sort of hybrid carpenter/architect. It sounded good at the time. As I progressed through grade school, I gravitated towards math, science and technology, and discovered that I did not possess the artistic skills required for architecture. I have always enjoyed building, fixing and taking things apart to figure out how they work. Engineering was the perfect fit.
IF I COULD DO ANYTHING ELSE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Just about anything where I could fix or build something by hand, you know, like a carpenter.
WHAT IS MY FAVORITE ____?
Hanging out with the family in the sun on the beach. Camping. Bowling. Brewing beer. Smoking (meat, not cigarettes). Playing (not watching) just about any sport.
